And Then I Squeezed Them Again

Drivin' up the Central Valley of California
I feel a bit like a movie star.
We're all goin' 85 miles per hour,
gulpin' down gas like a drunk in a bar.
It feels good to be in California.
It feels good to be goin' so fast.
It feels good to be a movie star.
No tellin' how long this feeling will last.

I never dreamed I'd squeeze so much water from my rocks.
But I squeezed 'em dry,
and then I squeezed 'em again.

Sittin' in the usual L.A. traffic
somewhere along the 405.
It's hotter than hell and I gotta pee.
Christ, it's good to be alive.

I never dreamed I'd squeeze so much water from my rocks.
But I squeezed 'em dry,
and then I squeezed 'em again.

I sit and I watch my garden grow
while the world drifts, and it moves so slow.
Old friends in pain try not to let it show,
they sit and watch their gardens grow.
Whatever it was, we won't let it go.
Whatever it was, we won't let it go.

Huarache Mama gives me an erection.
She makes promises I know she'll never keep.
"Dude" and Ron make no promise at all;
they're just a couple of guys I know out on the street.

I never dreamed I'd squeeze so much water from my rocks.
But I squeezed 'em dry,
and then I squeezed 'em again.

Havin' dinner in a desert saloon,
when Maria Bello comes flutterin' in
like a perfect angel with wings of light.
All she makes me wanna do is sin.
It feels good to be in the desert.
It feels good to be goin' so fast.
It feels good to be Maria Bello.
No tellin' how long this feeling will last.

I never dreamed I'd squeeze so much water from my rocks.
But I squeezed 'em dry,
and then I squeezed 'em again.

I sit and I watch my garden grow
while the world drifts, and it moves so slow.
Old friends in pain try not to let it show,
they sit and watch their gardens grow.
Whatever it was, we won't let it go.
Whatever it was, we won't let it go.
